The first National Conclave on Blind Cricket was held on 9th March Delhi by Cricket Association for the Blind in India in association with Induslnd Bank.
The Conclave was inaugurated by Sh. Mahantesh GK, President, World Blind Cricket and CABI, Sh. Syed Kirmani, Sh. Madan Lal, Sh. Bishen Singh Bedi Sh. Chetan Chauhan, Minister of Sports and Skill Development in UP Govt and Sh. Ajay Jadeja, Former Indian Cricketer and Mrs. Swathi Singh, Minister of Women and Child Welfare, UP GOVT
On this occasion, a Souvenir was also released on Blind Cricket.
Sh. Chetan Chauhan congratulated the Indian Blind Cricket Team on winning the World Cup. He has offered full support to the Indian Blind Cricket Team in providing them jobs, which has been a recent initiative of his Govt. He also highlighted the fact that his Govt was in the process of approving the proposal of honoring disabled sportsmen.
Sh. Ajay Jadeja on this historic occasion said that information about blind cricket should reach every section of the society, including school going children and everyone should experience playing this game
Sh. Madan Lal advised the Team to practice continuously, to work hard and be focused on the game.
Sh. Syed Kirmani recollected that how in his time many facilities were not available for cricket. But passion and willpower enabled him to be a part of the Indian Cricket Team.
Sh. Bishen Singh Bedi assured all support to the Team through his Trust.
After the humorous session from legendary cricketers, there was lively session from the corporate world, media. Also, the sessions were held by Mr. Dinesh Sharma, DDCA, Prith Hegde from KSCA & KR Rajendra International Consultant.
Real life stories were shared by some blind cricketers. The conclave got concluded by felicitation to the Blind Indian team, champions of the 5th ODI Blind Cricket World u. The conclave was attended by more than 80 cricketers across India.
This is the first Conclave organized by CABI which saw a huge gathering of all parts.
